The Recipe grew up in San Francisco's Hayes Valley neighborhood home to some of San Francisco's most infamous housing projects. In these streets, he honed his art,working with neighborhood friends and fellow rap artist, Rapping 4-Tay, J.T.The Bigga Figga, Messy Marv, The Tigg, Black Nate, Mac-Mo, Mike J,P-Town,EL Plaga . The Recipe Built his reputation initially as a emcee, but he showed a early affinity for the studio and composition. his eventual move toward production was inevitable.
